Order Estimation via Matrix Completion for Multi-Switch Antenna Selection

This letter addresses the problem of order estimation for uniform linear arrays (ULAs) with multi-switch antenna selection in small-sample regime. Multi-switch results a data matrix missing entries, scenario which existing methods that build on eigenvalues sample covariance do not perform well. A direct application Davis-Kahan theorem allows us to show signal subspace is quite robust presence entries. Based this finding, proposes completion (MC) subspace-based criterion exploits shift-invariance property ULAs. recently proposed shift-invariant (SIMC) method used reconstructing matrix, and based chordal distance between two submatrices extracted from reconstructed increasing values dimension subspace. Our simulation provides accurate estimates percentages entries higher than 50%.
